Happenings Around Town

July 02, 2009

You already know about all the outdoor activities taking place this weekend for the Fourth of July, but there are indoor (read= cool) activities to attend as well.

Clay Casa is offering half price studio fees on the 4th of July.  Another promotion is 'Buy One Get One for $4' only on Saturday.  They have many different pottery pieces to choose from.  As my son has become more artistic and willing to sit and paint, we find ourselves walking out with more and more "treasures".

Although San Antonio libraries will be closed July 3-4 in observance of Fourth of July, check their website for so many upcoming events.  On Tuesday, the 7th, at the Bannwolf Library (at Reagan High School) the Magik Theatre will be performing an encore performance of, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.  Performance will start at 11:00, but arrive early if you want to attend because there isn't a lot of room for the kids.    Have you signed up for the Kids' Summer Reading Program at the library?  Keep track of books read on the Reading Log and when you to 15, you will receive a paper certificate and a free book!  The books are really current and my son was VERY excited about it.  He kept making sure it was his to keep, "Mommy, we don't have to take this back to the library, right?".
