A Visit to Mini Town

April 20, 2009

My three-year-old was invited to a birthday party at Mini Town, but we were unable to go.  I hadn't heard of it though, so I looked it up on the Internet and decided we needed to try it out.  I found a coupon on the Internet through momsaroundsa.com that was for buy one kid get the 2nd kid admission free.  I was meeting up with a friend and we figured we could use it for her son and my son.  When we got there they explained that it was for siblings (which worked out for me to get my 1-year-old in) and wouldn't let my friend use it (bummer) but I was able to.   Read more...

Big Top Kidz vs. Jump and Bounce

August 08, 2008

I am all for the newest indoor play areas that are popping up around town. I like these facilities because on inclement weather days (or days when it is too hot to even check the mail) my preschooler doesn't have to climb the walls in our house. I am going to focus on two in my own immediate area. There are pros and cons to both. Feel free to tell us about others if you know of any in  Read more...

Tents/Forts/Play-spaces -- Why kids love a second home

July 07, 2008

Children are used to adults being in charge. We tell them what they can eat, where they can play, when to go to bed and what behavior is appropriate. It's no wonder they can't wait to escape to a place where they get to make the rules. Whether it's a backyard playscape, a treehouse, a tent, or a simple fort made of blankets stretched over the living room furniture, preschoolers are drawn to  Read more...

A place so spacious that your child could run, back and forth across it, for hours at a time, while you sit leisurely on a blanket, able to see them from any  Read more...
