Fireworks Around Town on the Fourth

June 29, 2009

Just because we aren't allowed to pop firecrackers in Bexar county (our drought is in full force) doesn't mean that we can't see sparklers.  There are many places in and around town to catch fireworks.  Remember to get there early for a good spot to see the fireworks.  Fourth of July is a time to celebrate with BBQ, family and friends; but it is also a time to be extra careful and safe.  Let me know if I missed any places to see fireworks.

Free Movies!!

June 08, 2009

One of the reasons to love summer so much is cool air-conditioned movie theatres that show our kiddos FREE movies!  I get a break (along with my kiddo from running errands or hanging out at home) and I can spring for a popcorn and not feel guilty.   Regal Movie Theatres is offering select free movies for nine weeks this summer on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 AM.  First come first serve on the tickets (available at the ticket box office that morning).  Live Oak, Cielo Vista, Fiesta, and Northwoods are the theatres offering them in San Antonio.  Of course these aren't the latest Disney movie still making box office history, but older movies shown in past years- still ones we all love.    Read more...

The Ideas are Endless for the Weekend!

April 02, 2009

Can you believe it is Spring?  With all of our nice rain showers, wildflowers like bluebonnets should be popping up everywhere.  The hot humid weather is holding off for another month, so it is the perfect time to get out on the weekends with the family.    Roxaboxen is playing at The Magik Theatre now until April 18.  This play is based on the book Roxaboxen by Alice McLerran about children using their imaginations to imagine towns and houses made out of all different fun things.
